Knife Sharpeners So what's the best knife sharpener for you?
Knives are designed to be hard enough to stay sharp as long as possible but soft enough to be sharpened, so it is essential to have a good knife sharpener to keep even the most basic knife sharp enough to perform. To do this, in my opinion, the Minosharp range are by far the easiest to use and produce very good results, quickly.
If you use a basic steel, then you need to really use it every time you use the knife to maintain the edge. If the edge dulls you will need something a little coarser to get it back. For example a diamond coated steel, which is extremely fast at it's job (their downside is that they wear out faster than ordinary steels) or ceramic steel, which is also leagues ahead of ordinary steel and will not wear out (careful not to drop it though!). With whetstones, if you know what you are doing, you can get the most precise results and are really handy for the specialist one sided sushi knives.
So there you have it in a nutshell, I hope this summary helps you in your deliberations on which sharpener to choose and do remember our guarantee. If you're not happy with anything you purchase from us, we'll take it back (even though its used!) and give you a refund ... no arguments!
