An eggs-tremely easy Easter recipe!

The team in Cobham are getting very EGG-cited and are baking up a storm.  This recipe for a Cadbury Creme Egg Tray Bake has been tried and tested and voted 5* by the team for yumminess!
"This recipe was very, very tasty recipe. Easy to do, it is a perfect recipe to do in the Easter holidays. The kids will love smashing up the eggs for the top and licking out the bowl!. We put the cake mixture into small loaf liners instead of a tray as they could be easily distributed, but you could easily separate them  in to Muffin cases."

  • 175 g Unsalted butter softened
  • 175 g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g self raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 50 g Cadbury Bournville Cocoa
  • 150 g icing sugar
  • 25 g Cadbury Bournville Cocoa
  • 5 Cadbury Creme Egg smashed up
  1. Preheat the oven to Gas 4, 180 C, grease and line a 31x20cm shallow tin.
  2. In a bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the sifted flour, baking powder and cocoa and fold in.
  3. Turn into the prepared tin, push into the corners and level out the top. Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes (test with a skewer, it should come out clean if cake is cooked). Cool and place on a wire rack.
  4. Sift the icing sugar and cocoa into a bowl and add a little water (few tsp) to make a spreadable icing. Spread over the top of the cooled cake and top with smashed pieces of creme egg.
